First ROAR entry

1. The narrator of this book always seemed to think negatively about the setting around him
2. I believe that the "hawk" he speaks about represents the winter. this is because he says its forces families to stay in their apartments close together.
3. His family was very poor because they couldn't pay for heat.
4. the tension between the family kept building as they spent more time together. they didn't seem to know each other very well.
5. although while younger, his family fought a lot, they were very close.

1. On page 3 if the preface, he uses the ter, "hawk". He uses this to compare the winter to a hawk th sweeps down.

2. On page 13, he he observes passing cars. he says they were like ghosts with lights in front.
